Linen PressLinen press is a kind of cabinet that is generally made from wood like walnut, pine, oak or mahogany. Linen presses are mainly designed for storing sheets, clothing, table-napkins and other textiles. Linen-presses were first seen in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and today have become a collectible item. These were used mainly to be kept in bedrooms as a storage place for clothing. Today, not only do they adorn bedroom décor, but also compliment the look of a bathroom and can be used to store towels, napkins, etc. Linen press perfectly complements décor that is largely based on wooden architecture. Linen presses could be built into or attached to a wall. Their doors could be single panelled, double panelled, fledged or flat panelled. The linen press could have only doors or could have doors along with a chest of drawers attached to it. Shorter cabinets or linen press could have finished surfaces which may be used for display or as a counter top in kitchens. They can be painted in various colours and designs or could simply be left polished to give a rustic and classy look. A linen press may also be referred to as a wardrobe. Linen press or various sizes and designs are available online. |
