Famous English crime fiction writer Agatha Christie was born on 15 September, 1890 in Torquay, Devon. At the age of 16 when she was in Paris Agatha joined school to study piano and singing. Also known as Dame Agatha Christie, she has written romances under the name Mary Westmacott. She gained recognition with her 66 detective novels. After her novels that featured detectives Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple were published, she was honoured with the title of ‘Queen of Crime’.
