Andy McNabAndy McNab is the assumed name of a British born author who had previously served as a soldier. The real name of Andy McNab has been kept under wraps for ensuring his security. McNab had been involved with covert and overt special operations spanning across the Middle and Far East, South and Central America and North Ireland. He became famous because of his account of the SAS mission Bravo Two Zero in the Gulf War, 1993, in his book by the name of Bravo Two Zero. Bravo Two Zero, translated in over 15 languages has been published in 17 countries and is also one of the highest selling war books of all time. McNab led the eight man team patrol that was delegated the task of annihilating underground communication links between Baghdad and north-west Iraq. Although the patrol infiltrated Iraq, they suffered some major setbacks. While three of the eight men were killed, four were captured and one managed to escape. McNab was one of the four held as prisoner. McNab’s autobiography is called Immediate Action, which is also one of his top-selling books. Andy McNab’s Meltdown is the fourth in the McNab’s Soldier Boy series. Andy McNab’s Soldier Boy series has been co-authored by Robert Rigby. Andy McNab’s Recoil, Aggressor, Deep Black, are his other fictional works. |
