BeanoBeano is a British children’s comic that first appeared in 1938. It was published by D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd of Dundee, Scotland in the United Kingdom. It has over 3000 published issues and still continues as of 2007. Its 3000th issue was published in January 2000. Beano's longest- running strip in the comic is Dennis and Gnasher. Dennis was referred to as "The World's Wildest Boy" after he first appeared in 1951. Other popular strips include “The Bash Street Kids” created by Leo Baxendale and “Minnie the Minx”, and “Roger the Dodger” created by Ken Reid. Since 1984, Euan Kerr was the editor of Beano comic, until Alan Digby took over in early 2006. In the early 1990s, a Beano Poster Comic series was printed. Since 1939,"the Beano Annual", which is a book, is being published every year to tie in with the comic. The annuals were earlier called ‘The Magic-Beano Book’ between 1942 to 1949. Beano along with the comic, ‘The Dandy’ has also run "Comic Library" titles since 1982. These titles feature a full length adventure about one of the Beano characters.
