CommandoCommando For Action and Adventure, also popularly known as Commando Comics, is a British comic book series. These were formerly known as Commando War Stories in Pictures. This comic book series features stories which are set against the war scenes during World War I and the World War II. The stories gained huge popularity due to their characteristic themes which dealt with courage, cowardice, patriotism, and enmity turning into friendship in tough human situations. D.C. Thomson of Dundee, Scotland launched the Commando war comic series in 1961. The company initially published two issues per month which were later raised to four due to its rising popularity. The title of the comic book series changed to Commando For Action and Adventure in 1993. This ever popular comic book series is still in publication and is known for its distinctive 7 x 5 _ inch, 68 page standard format. The Commando comic book features simple stories with beautiful black and white sketches and colour sketches for the book covers. Many of the older Commando stories are available under collector’s edition. Some of such popular Commando comic books are Collector’s Commando Comic no. 1949, Collector’s Commando Comic no. 1947 and Collector’s Commando Comic no. 1942.
