Derek AcorahDerek Acorah, also known as The Big Daddy, is a popular and controversial English cable and satellite television personality, who has gained fame as a purported psychic medium. His real name is Derek Johnson, and he was born in Liverpool on 27th January 27 1950. Derek’s early life was spent in Bootle, Liverpool and Lancashire in England, during which time he pursued a career in football, playing for Liverpool F.C. Reserves and Glentoran. Later, he left for Australia to continue with his football career, and after returning to England worked for Littlewoods Warehouses as a security guard, at their Derby Lane and J.M Centre buildings between 1979 and 1985. Derek wrote his first book, The Psychic World of Derek Acorah, along with John G. Sutton, his then manager who also took him to the USA, where he took ISPR (International Society for Paranormal Research) tests in the field and consequently allowed to join the ISPR headed by parapsychologist Dr Larry Montz. While serving as one of the psychic investigators of the ISPR team, Acorah took part in six field investigations in England, which were then adapted into the 1999 award-winning documentaries, ISPR Investigates Ghosts of England and ISPR Investigates Ghosts Of Belgrave Hall, which were produced by Dr Larry Montz and Daena Smoller. Derek Acorah then starred in series and shows like Psychic Livetime, Predictions with Derek Acorah, Most Haunted, The Antiques Ghost Show, Derek Acorah's Ghost Towns, etc. Derek Acorah has also authored books like The Psychic World of Derek Acorah: Discover How to Develop Your Hidden Powers, Ghost Hunting with Derek Acorah, Derek Acorah's Amazing Psychic Stories, etc. Derek Acorah merchandise can be found on sale on many fan clubs and affiliated websites. |
