Engineering is regarded as a branch of applied maths and science (meaning their theoretical and practical aspects are used as well). Engineers have a huge responsibility as they go about finding solutions to any given problem. Sometimes engineers study and create a mathematical model of a problem to analyze and weigh possible solutions. If there are multiple solutions to a problem, engineers will evaluate the numerous design choices to see what best suits any given situation.

Before getting into actual, full-scale production, engineers try to predict how their designs will perform. For which, they create scale models, prototypes, do destructive and non-destructive tests, stress tests and more. The objective of doing tests is to ensure that prototypes will execute a task according to their expectations. Engineers’ job is a serious one as they have to ensure that their designs are safe for the public and cause no harm. Therefore engineers include a safety net in their designs to cut down the possible risk in the event of a failure.
