Frank MillerFrank Miller is an American based artist, writer, and film director. He is widely known for his unique film noir-style comic book stories that have enchanted readers the world over. He is possibly one of the most popular creators of comics in the industry. Frank Miller, (born in Olney, Maryland on the 27th of January, 1957) and was brought up in Montpelier, in Vermont. An avid comic fan since childhood, Miller set out to become an artist. His first assignment as an artist was in ‘The Twilight Zone’ for Gold Key Comics in 1978. He followed this up with numerous pencil jobs for anthology titles from DC Comics. After his contribution in ‘John Carter: Warlord of Mars’ #18 at Marvel comics, Frank Miller started working as a full time fill in and cover artist. Whilst working at Marvel, Frank worked on the ‘Spectacular Spider-Man’ #27 and #28 issues. It was in this series that ‘Daredevil’ featured as a supporting character. He was fond of the ‘Daredevil’ character and began working on him after the then Marvel Editor-in-Chief Jim Shooter made him the new penciller for ‘Daredevil’. Miller’s contribution made the title so successful that Marvel then began printing the ‘Daredevil’ comic on a monthly basis. In 1986, Frank Miller wrote and drew a four-issue mini-series of ‘Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (DRK)’, released by DC comics. The year 1991 saw Miller working on his first completely solo project in his first ‘Sin City’ story, released by Dark Horse comics. Frank Miller has also written scripts for ‘RoboCop 2’, ‘RoboCop 3’, and ‘RoboCop vs The Terminator’. Frank Miller’s contribution to the comic industry has been phenomenal over the years. His work has been appreciated by numerous comic lovers around the world. Miller is till date one of the all time great comic artists. |
