Harry PotterHarry Potter is a series of fantasy novels written by the renowned English author J. K. Rowling. Set in Hogwarts, a British boarding school for wizards, the story is about an orphan boy, Harry Potter, and his struggles against the dark wizard Lord Voldemort. The story unfolds against the expansive backdrop of the mysterious magical world. Packed with suspense and thrill, the narrative leaves a number of hidden clues, which finally ends with a surprise ending. The major theme of the book revolves around death. Told from a third-person limited perspective, all the secrets of the story are revealed to the readers when the lead character learns about the mysteries. The novel gained immense popularity and commercial success after the release of the first novel “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone,” in 1997. Numerous assorted merchandise and video games have been released, since then which have made huge profits. All Harry Potter books have been translated to more than 63 languages. Till date, six novels of the Harry Potter series have been released. The first book was followed by “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets”, “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban”, and “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”. The first four books have also been converted into blockbuster movies. The subsequent novels in the series include “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” and “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince”. The seventh and final in the series is “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows”, which is scheduled to be released by mid-July, 2007. |
