Haynes ManualThe Haynes manual, also known as Haynes Owners Workshop Manuals, is a series of practical manuals from the Haynes Publishing Group for the DIY enthusiast and professional garage repairmen. These manuals are named after John Haynes, OBE. In the year 1960, Haynes Publishing was established. The company and Haynes Motor Museum are located in a small Somerset town called Sparkford. "Haynes Owners Workshop Manual" was the first manual for the Austin Healey Sprite, and was published in the year 1965. The Haynes manuals mainly focus upon the construction, maintenance, and repair of automotive vehicles, and cover a wide range of makes, models, and years. Besides their range of car and bike manuals, they also publish manuals on transport, family and DIY related areas including restoration, motor sport, maritime subjects, aviation, farm tractors, commercial vehicles, motorcycling, cycling, caravanning, camping, home decorating & DIY, health matters and American cars. The automotive vehicle manuals comprise the strip down and rebuild of vehicles and step-by-step instructions with diagrams and photographs of the actual rebuild. The Haynes manuals are complied by a pair of authors who take approximately 20-30 man weeks to compile a manual. At the beginning of the project, a car or motorcycle is bought for understanding it inside out, and is sold off only after the manual is printed.
