Atlas CopcoAtlas Copco was founded in 1873 and is a Swedish company that manufactures industrial tools and equipments. The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. The various products manufactured by the company include compressed air equipment, industrial tools, assembly systems, construction and mining equipment and other related service and equipment rental. These products are sold in 150 countries with different brand names. The Atlas Copco Company was initially started by Eduard Franckel as ‘AB Atlas’. It's name was changed to Atlas Copco in 1956. The company acquired the Arpic Engineering NV and was later divided into three production companies namely, Atlas Copco Construction Mining and Techniques, Atlas Copco Tools and Atlas Copco Airpower. In 1975, Atlas Copco bought a major part of Berama, which was a manufacturer of lightweight petrol driven rock drills and breakers. In 1976, Atlas Copco bought a French company called Mauguiere. The company launched an innovative concept for mobile compressor in 2005. In 2007, Atlas Copco introduced its first Blast Hole Drill IDM30 that was manufactured from its high tech ADS facility. Atlas Copco has 68 production facilities in around 20 countries worldwide and the manufacturing activities are mainly concentrated in countries like Germany, France, China, Belgium, Sweden and the United States. |
