BalerA baler is a machine used in farms for compressing crops such as hay and straw as well as for binding bales. Usage of balers in recycling facilities is also common; they are often used for baling plastic, paper or cardboard. A wide variety of balers are available on the market. These include a round baler, large rectangular baler, small square baler, wire balers and industrial balers. The most commonly used baler is the round one. The round baler makes rounded and cylindrical bales, using rubberised belts, fixed rollers, or via a combination of both rollers and belts. Upon reaching the determined size, the twine or mesh wrap is wrapped around the bale, however, it isn’t knotted. Once this is done, the back of the baler is opened up and bale is discharged. Round bales pose the risk of rolling down slopes; therefore, special transport and moving equipment are required for them. Round bales with variable chambers have a large capacity, making them suitable for large farms. For those having small farms, mini-balers would be a better option. The large rectangular baler is used for producing large rectangular bales, with all the bales bound with certain strings of twine and knotted as well. These bales are more compressed, thus, they are bulkier than round bales. However, transporting these bales is easier. Industrial balers are used for compressing waste products like office paper which, in turn, can be sold to recycling companies involved in the production of paper, plastic or cardboard. |
