CNC Router

The CNC router is a tool that finds a place in carpentry workshops. This device enables quick and accurate gouging out of material from the surface of a wooden work piece. This requirement usually arises when another wood piece is to be inserted into the groove created. CNC routers are often used when making staircases and some furniture items. The router is powered by a motor that is rendered with a collet below the shaft. The actual digging into the wood is carried out by the rotation of router bits that come in varied sizes and are built for durability, being made of either high-speed steel or carbide. Depending on the intended application, either an edge bit or a non-edge bit can be used. CNC routers offer a speed of around 24,000 revolutions per minute (RPM). For added stability and consistent operation, the tool sometimes incorporates a drive system having two motors.

Better and faster performance is ensured by the usage of a subdivision, stepper motor. An innovative measuring system increases the router’s accuracy and thereby it's productivity. This system, coupled with precise gears, permits even 1.5mm characters to be engraved. Considering the amount of wood shavings and powder getting generated during use, CNC routers often have a vacuum cleaning system that prevents dirt and debris from accumulating in the tool’s vicinity.
