FestoolFestool GmbH was founded in 1925 by Gottlieb Stoll and today it is the world’s leading producer of high end power tools, especially for cabinetry. The company is located in Wendlingen, Germany and is a subsidiary of the TTS Tooltechnic Systems holding company. The company is renowned for a number of inventions including the portable circular saw with guide rail, the orbital sander, the Systainer storage system and the Domino jointer, among others. In 1929, the company developed the first portable chainsaw to optimize work on site. In 1951, the first orbital sander was introduced to the market by Festool, and considerably revolutionised the area of surface treatment. The portable circular saw with guide rail, launched in 1964, was a major highlight in the Festool history. In 1967, Festool made the first false joint saw which simplified work to a great extent.. It also developed the first eccentric sander in 1976. In 1982, Festool unveiled the Rotex RO 1 and in 1984, the company’s jig saw was equipped with a triple saw blade guide to get exact cuts. Festool’s Systainer won many awards in 1993 and in 1994 the shortest rechargeable drill/screwdriver was introduced. Mobile dust extractors were brought to the market by Festool in 1999, and in 2005, the cordless drill C12 with EC-TEC was launched. |
