Fordson

Ford Motors is a world-famous US automotive manufacturer that was setup by Henry Ford in 1903. Based in Michigan, Ford Motors has produced an incredible number of cars, trucks and other vehicles. This company designed the first mass produced agricultural tractor in the world. Known as the Fordson tractor, this vehicle was light and without any frames.

The Fordson tractors were initially produced by Henry Ford and his son Edsel under a separate company known as ‘Henry Ford and Son Company.’ The assembly line production of the Fordson Model F began in 1917. This company merged with Ford Motors a few years later. In England, the production of Fordson Tractors ceased during the mid-1960s.

The Fordson tractors featured metal wheels and an engine that was powered by a vapouriser. There was no cabin for this tractor but it provided a comfortable driving experience to the farmers.

Some of the other popular tractor models of this brand include the Fordson Major E27N, Fordson New Major, Fordson Dexta and Fordson Super Dexta. The Fordson Dexta was made in the British town of Dagenham during the period from 1957 up to 1961.
