LaserApart from other multiple applications, lasers are also used in eye surgeries to reshape the surface of the cornea. This technique is known as the Lasik technique. Lasik as a surgical procedure is meant to tackle a person's dependency on glasses or contact lenses by correcting certain refractive disorders such as myopia (nearsightedness), hyperopia (farsightedness), and astigmatism (distorted vision). Lasik surgery once performed cannot be reversed. As lasik surgery is performed in a matter of minutes and does not require blood samples or injections, it serves the purpose of the marketing industry to liken it to just another visit to the doctor. But that is not the case. It is still a surgery and comes with its share of complications. Lasik as a surgical procedure is still young. Some of the kinks still need ironing out. As a result, all the more reason for one to be judicious in their choice of an eye surgeon. Laser printers and copy machines use a special kind of ink called laser toner. Laser toner is a dry, powdery substance, electrically charged, enabling it to hold fast to the drum, plate, or piece of paper charged with the opposite polarity. In a laser printer, the laser beam varies the electrical charge on the drum wherever it strikes. The drum is rolled through a reservoir of toner. Its charged portions pick up the toner and transfer it to the paper, using a mix of a heat and pressure. Toners come in cartridges that have to be inserted into the printer. This is the operating mechanism for most laser printers. The toner is replenished by refilling the cartridge. Some suppliers of laser printer toner cartridge include HP Toner Cartridges, Brother, Lexmark, Samsung, OKI, and Canon Laser Printer Toner Cartridges |
