200SXThe Nissan 200SX was a line of compact sports cars available in 2-door coupe and 2-door hatchback body styles. The 200SX line was manufactured by the Japanese motor company, Nissan Motors. The Nissan 200SX models were equipped with the S15 chassis model that sported the 200SX badge. Nissan Silvia, a popular car model manufactured in the 1960s, was the first Nissan 200SX to feature the 200SX badge. Production of this car was revived by Nissan in 1974. Equipped with the S10 chassis, it ran on a 2.0 L carburetted 4 cylinder L20B engine that produced output of 90 HP. This car was followed by the SX200 model that featured the S114 chassis as well as a 1000cc Wankel rotary engine. Then came the Nissan 200SX model of 1983, which was equipped with a new S chassis—the S12. Depending on the engine type, the early S12 engine was available with two different rear suspension set–ups. The 2.0 L engine was equipped with a solid rear axle; the 1.8 L turbo engine had semi-trailing arm rear independent suspension and full disc brakes. Since 1985, all 200SX models were equipped with rear independent suspensions. In the European market, the 200SX equipped with the S14 chassis was the last model of the Nissan 200SX to be launched. The car featured revised styling and the SR20DET engine that produced output of 147 KW. Nowadays, besides 200SX models, parts and supplies of the Nissan 200SX are available for sale, online as well. |
