Astra Mk3The Vauxhall Astra Mark 3 or MK3 is a car model introduced by Vauxhall, the British subsidiary of General Motors. The Vauxhall Astra models were small family cars launched by this company since the end of the 1970s. The Mark 3 model was based on the design of its predecessor, the Mark 2. The MK3 was the first model generation that used the ‘Astra’ name. The Astra MK 3 was offered as a three-door or five-door hatchback, a wagon (the Caravan) or a sedan. With a production span of twelve years, the Astra MK3 was considered as a classic model. Vauxhall offered the LS, GLS, CD, CDX, GSI, SXI and other trim levels of the Astra MK3 in the UK market. A sports version known as the S (sport) trim of this vehicle was also offered for sale. The MK3 cars used the same engines as the MK1 and MK2 models like the 1200cc Opel OHV engine that offered both power and economy. The Astra MK3 Owners’ club was started in the United Kingdom for the devoted enthusiasts of this vehicle. Vauxhall Astra mk3 body kits, spare parts and accessories are available on the net and in special shops across the UK. |
