Austin HealeyAustin Healey is a sports marque, first built in 1952. This brand was the result of an arrangement between Leonard Lord, Austin Division and Donald Healey, a well-known car engineer and designer. The Austin Healey 100 was a sports car developed by Donald Healey. The car was launched in 1953. The model had a a 90 hp (67 kW) engine and featured 3-speed (plus overdrive) manual transmission. The next model was BN2 that launched in 1956. The differentiating feature of BN2 was its real 4-speed manual transmission. There was a limited number of these high-performance cars that came in the market during those times. The most famous Austin Healey offering was the Austin Healey 3000 that was launched in 1958. Winner of several rallying competitions, this car still finds takers today. The original 3000 line-up included BN7 Mark I, a 2-seater and BT7 Mark I, a 2+2 seater. The Mark I was in production till 1961, followed by BN7 Mark II, BT7 Mark II and BJ7 Mark II. The Mark II cars came with triple SU carburettors. The Mark III BJ8 cars, renowned for their power and opulence, were launched in 1964. These cars came with walnut veneer dash and wind-up windows. The Austin-Healey Sprite was an open sports car designed by Donald Healey. The production of these cars was stopped in 1971.
