BangerBanger racing is a type of motor sport that is similar to dirt track racing. The event is especially popular in Europe. Enduro racing, as it is called in US, takes place on short tracks. The style of racing in Europe differs from that in the US. In Europe, though the criteria for winning and racing remains more or less the same, the participants deliberately try to wreck the competitors’ vehicles. The racing tracks are generally oval but sometimes an eight figured racing track is also used. The vehicle used for the racing is generally a re-make from scrapped automobiles. Therefore, there are various versions of sports cars that can be seen on the track. The races are conducted for a varied sort of powered vehicles ranging from normal passenger cars to trailers and towing caravans. Another version of banger racing is the “Siamese” racing, in which two cars are chained together but driven separately by individual drivers. There are various considerations to this race, with the primary ones being wrecking and racing. It is also a challenge for the professionals to prepare a car that looks great and also scores high on performance. The banger racing has its origins in the demolition derby where each car is set to destroy and smash the opposition. With over 50 cars racing at the same time, the number of laps required to be completed range from 200 to 300. |
