Bedford RascalThe Bedford Rascal is a small, economical van from Bedford, with a design similar to a Japanese Suzuki vehicle called the ‘Suzuki Super Carry’. After 1990, it was labelled the Vauxhall Rascal. In Australia, it was sold as the Holden Scurry. Both the Suzuki Supercarry and the Rascal were manufactured at the LBC Vehicles plant in Luton, located just next to Vauxhall's main factory. Sales of the Bedford Rascal van took place from 1986 to 1993, being quite popular for a varied range of businesses like florists, newsagents & traders. The later introduced versions of the Rascal including the pick-up and camper were also a hit with small businesses and travellers. The Bedford Rascal came with an increased engine size as compared to the Suzuki’s version with a full 1 litre engine capacity. Other upgrades also included a 5 speed gear box. Today, Bedford Rascal still sells a selection of second hand models starting from 995 pounds. The remanufactured engine/battery is backed by a 12 month warranty, from £695 + VAT (+ delivery if applicable). Service parts like filters, brakes and clutch, body panels like new front wheel arch repair panels and used side loading doors are also available. New genuine parts like rear lights, radiators and exhausts are also on sale. For more information, visit the manufacturer website. |
