BeetleBeetle is an economy car manufactured by Volkswagen, a German automobile manufacturer. The series was introduced in 1983 and the production continued until 2003. However, the company has re-started manufacturing of the Beetle in 2007. The names “Beetle” and “Bug” were popularly used for this car, but it was not until August 1967 that the company officially started using the name. Previously, the car was either known as the Type I or as the 1200, 1300 or 1500. The first Beetle brought to UK after the World War II from Germany is stilled owned by the original proprietor. The latest model of Beetle is powered by a 2.5 L engine generating 150 hp. Inspired by Lamborghini Gallardo V10, the engine features 20 valves and 5-cylinders. To add to the performance of the car, it is inbuilt with the Anti-Slip Regulation, ,, the Electronic Differential Lock and the Electronic Stabilisation Program. The car is equipped with duo-transmission, which can be set on automatic or manual. The interior of Beetle has a new storage compartment, which is integrated in the armrest. The HomeLink technology can be programmed as per the garage doors, lights or alarm system. Additionally, the interiors have been enhanced with chrome detailing around the vent and speedometer. The exteriors of the car have been redesigned and installed with new headlights as well as tail lights for offering better visibility. The front and rear bumpers have been re-styled to appear sleeker and have sharper lines. The sunroof, apart from being kept open or shut, can now also be adjusted as per the sunlight. The car has fog lights for additional safety during fog. Beetle runs on 5-spoke design 17” alloy wheels that have high strength and durability. The Beetle is also available in a convertible version. |
