Corsa SportIn 1983, General Motors introduced the supermini model car, the Opel Corsa. It was launched under various brands like the Vauxhall, Holden and Chevrolet. In the United Kingdom it was introduced by Vauxhall Motors, which is a subsidiary of General Motors. In 2000, Vauxhall Corsa Sport was launched as the new sports variant of Vauxhall Corsa. The Opel Corsa was launched as Vauxhall Nova; however, in 1993 Vauxhall Motors replaced the name Nova by Corsa. Initially, the Corsa was introduced as a 3-/5-door hatchback; however, later on it introduced as a 3-/5-door sedan. The first generation Corsa was known as Corsa A series whereas the current generation of Corsa is known as the Corsa D, which was launched in 2006. The first generation Opel Corsa Sport was the Corsa 1.8 Sport which featured an inline 4-cylinder 1796 cc engine. It was capable of delivering an output of 125 HP and a top speed of 197.0 km/hr (122.4 mph). It was equipped with 5-speed manual gearbox and was launched as a 3-door hatchback. In 2006, Opel launched various versions of the Corsa Sport like the Corsa 1.7 DTi Sport, Corsa Lite Sport and the Corsa utility 1.8 Sport. The Corsa Sport 1.4 is available with an inline 4-cylinder 1398 cc engine while the Corsa 1.7 DTi Sport is equipped with an inline 4-cylinder 1686 cc engine. |
