Escort CabrioletFord Escort was a small family car manufactured by the Ford Motor Company. The production of these cars began in 1967. The Ford Escort Mk I was launched in 1968, and the production of which continued up to 1975. The Ford Escort Cabriolet was introduced in the year 1983 as a part of the Ford Escort Mk III series. The Escort Cabriolet was available in four variants namely 1.6, 1.6I, 1.3 and All White. These four variants were based on the Erika platform. The Escort Cabriolet 1.3 featured a 1.3 L CVH engine, which generated 59 BHP. The 1.6, 1.6I and the All White variants were equipped with a 1.6 L engine, which were capable of generating 79 and 105 BHP, respectively. The Escort Mk 3 was redesigned in 1986 and was called the Mk4. The Escort Cabriolet Mk IV models included XR3I, Ghia, Tu Tone, All-White, Tennis and Monotone models. These models were based on the Erika 86 platform and were powered by a CVH engine. The fifth generation Ford Escort was called the Escort Mk 5. The Ford Escort Mk 5 Cabriolet variants included the 1.6I, 1.6I Catalyst, XR3I and Dash. The production of Ford Escort cars ended in the year 1993.
