Fiesta mk1In 1976, the Ford Motor Company launched the Ford Fiesta, a mid-class supermini car, in the European automobile market. The first Ford Fiesta was known as the Mark I or MK I, and its production was stopped in 1983. This compact automobile was Ford’s first successful car with a front-wheel drive. The Ford Fiesta MK I was powered by the Valencia, a later version of the Ford Kent OHV engine. This vehicle had a top speed of about 170 km per hour, and was equipped with a four-speed manual transmission. The trim levels of Fiesta offered in the European market included the Popular, L, S trim, Ghia, Base and a van. In 1980, the 1.3 L Supersport, a sporting variant, was introduced in Europe. This car paved the way for the introduction of the 1.6 L Fiesta mk1 XR2 the next year. Several modifications were made to the Fiesta MK I for aesthetic purposes. Both the exterior and interior of this vehicle featured black plastic trim that made it appear elegant. While larger circular headlights replaced the square ones, the front indicators were relocated to the bumper. Small changes were made in 1981 by increasing the size of the bumper of the Fiesta MK I in order to meet regulations. This car was considered powerful for its time as it could generate an output power of up to 83 HP. You can purchase Ford Fiesta MK1spare parts and accessories easily over the net. |
