Lexus IS200

Lexus IS200 is a car manufactured by Toyota Motor Corporation, a Japanese automobile major. Lexus IS200 was an entry-level luxury car which made its debut in Europe, in 1999. In Japan, this car was sold as Altezza until the second generation Lexus IS design was launched.

This car features a front engine design and has a four-wheel drive layout. The first generation was introduced in three different choices of engine line-up namely 2.0 L 1G-FE I6, 2.0 L 3S-GE I4 and 3.0 L 2JZ-GE I6. The car offered 4–speed automatic, 5–speed manual, 5–speed automatic and 6-speed manual transmission. This car featured many unique elements like chrome metal ball shifter, an instrument panel designed in the shape of chronograph and a navigation screen that popped-up. The competition for this car came from BMW 3 Series, Nissan Skyline/Infiniti G35 sports sedans and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The second generation of Lexus IS was introduced in 2006. The new IS series featured several design enhancements which included sleeker contours and more-oft repeated appearance of the arrowhead motif. These cars took luxury to even greater heights by featuring seats in leather and electroluminescent dash display lighting. A standard feature on these cars is Lexus SmartAccess keyless entry with push-button start. The engine choices for the Lexus IS200 include 2.2 L diesel (IS 220d), 2.5 L 4GR-FSE V6 (IS 250), 3.0 L 3GR-FE V6 (IS 300) and 3.5 L 2GR-FSE V6 (IS 350).
