MarcosMarcos is a UK-based manufacturer of sports cars. The company was founded in 1959 by Jem Marsh and Frank Costin. The first car from the Marcos stable was the Marcos GT which was introduced in 1960. Some of the cars from Marcos include Mini Marcos, Marcos Mantis, Marcos Mantula, Spider and Mantina, among others. The first 1960 Marcos GT had gullwing doors and a windscreen in four panels. The choice of engines ranged from 997 cc to 1498 cc. Up to 1963, a total of 39 Marcos GT cars were manufactured. In 1992, the Marcos company came up with the Marcos Mantara that was powered by a 3.9 litre Rover V8. In a bid to return to GT racing, a range of modified Mantaras were produced in Le Mans or LM versions by the company. In 2002, a new car called the Marcasite TS250 was launched. This car featured a 2.5 litre 175 bhp Ford V6; in 2003, it was replaced by the 5 litre Rover V8 powered TS500. The latest offerings from the Marcos stable include the TSO RT.
