Mini ClubmanMini Clubman is a restyled version of the Mini, done under the ownership of British Leyland by stylist Roy Haynes. The Mini Clubman features a square frontal look and offer better safety features. The Mini Clubman is very similar to the Mini 1275GT in make and style therefore the Mini 1275Gt is often incorrectly described as the Mini Clubman 1275 Gt. The first Mini was a small car produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) in the year 1959 and is today considered as a classic. It was designed by Sir Alec Issigonis for BMC and was manufactured at the Longbridge and Cowley plants in the United Kingdom. The Morris Mini traveller, the Austin Mini Countryman and the Mini Van were some of the variants of that classic Mini. The first Mini Clubman was designed in 1969 and was in production till 1980 with the intention to replace the upmarket Riley and Wolseley versions. The Mini Clubman and 1275GT were replaced in 1980 by the new hatchback Austin Metro. The 1976 Mini Clubman Estate was very popular among users. The Mini Clubman and 1275GT were one of the first vehicles to use a flexi printed circuit board behind the dash instruments. They featured four speed manual transmissions and was 2-door styled vehicle with space saving front wheel drive layout. |
