Mini VanA Mini van is a multi-purpose vehicle that is similar in shape to a van; however, they are designed for personal use with maximum interior room. Mini-vans generally have between four and nine seats, and are taller than a sedan, hatchback or a station wagon. The term "minivan" is derived from the fact that such vehicles are smaller and more streamlined than the typical passenger vans, such as the Ford E-Series. However, minivans are known with different names in other English-speaking countries. Minivans can be broadly classified into larger and smaller minivans. The larger minivans generally have three seat rows, with each row having two or three seats, while the smaller minivans can have two seat rows. Larger minivans most commonly are available in 2-3-2 or 2-3-3 seating configurations and smaller ones with a typical 2-3 seat configuration. Unlike sport utility vehicles (SUVs), most minivans incorporate front-wheel drive. Front-wheel drive aids in efficient handling as compared to rear-wheel drive, especially in slippery conditions such as rain and snow. Another advantage of using the front-wheel drive is that it allows more interior space along the floor. They also provide ample cargo space when rear seats are removed, which can then be used to transport goods. Minivans are usually given for hire or rentals as pick-up vehicles as it is convenient to transport people or goods. |
