Vauxhall Corsa

The Opel Corsa, produced by General Motors' European subsidiary Opel, is a supermini that has been under the aegis of many brands such as Vauxhall, Chevrolet and Holden. Despite its international presence, the car was never sold in the United States or Canada. The first set of Corsa was manufactured at the GM's plants in Spain, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, India and China. The front-wheel drive Corsa was launched in 1983 and was available in three-door hatchback and two-door sedan models, with four-door and five-door versions. The basic model was called the Corsa, followed by the Corsa Luxus, Corsa Berlina and the sporty Corsa SR. The company constantly introduced changes in the body design. The Corsa was known in the UK market as the Vauxhall Nova. The car was a popular choice for the car driving schools. The second generation Corsa in UK dropped the name Nova and came to be known as Corsa. This car was available in petrol engines ranging from 1.4 L to 1.6 L and 1.5 L turbo diesel engines. A 1.0 L 3 cylinder economic version was also introduced in 1996 and the exteriors were refreshed again. The sedan model of Corsa is sold in Brazil as the Chevrolet Classic and Chevrolet Corsa Classic. The sedan and wagon version are sold in China under the brand label Buick Sail and Buick Sail S-RV. The Opel Corsa C was introduced in 2000 with a refined style and is available in three-door or five-door hatchback. The latest version of Corsa introduced in 2006, the Corsa D, is co-created by Fiat and Opel.
