The company derives its name from its founders, David Abercrombie and Ezra Fitch and has been headed by Chairman and CEO, Mike Jeffries since 1992. Abercrombie and Fitch encompass four brands: Abercrombie & Fitch, Abercrombie, Hollister Co. and RUEHL No.925. A new brand called ’Concept 5’ is set to open its first store around January 2008. Abercrombie and Fitch has 944 stores in the U.S, six stores in Canada and plans to continue its expansion in Europe and Japan. Abercrombie and Fitch opened its first European store in London on March 22nd 2007.

Abercrombie and Fitch ladies collection includes jackets, shirts, sweaters, tanks/tubes, denim wear, shorts, skirts and swimwear. Their collection also includes flip flops, belts, perfumes and gift cards, all of which come in a variety of colours, sizes, designs and materials. Abercrombie and Fitch t-shirts have been controversial due to unconventional phrases and caricatures that are printed on them. Abercrombie and Fitch, has a dedicated website for its UK customers, where its entire product range is available. Abercrombie and Fitch also offer men’s and kid’s clothing and accessories. Most of its products are available online through shopping sites, besides flagship stores.
