Bathing Ape

Founded by DJ Nigo in 1993, Bathing Ape or Bape is a well-known Japanese brand manufacturing urban clothing. The brand name is derived from a common Japanese saying, "bathing in lukewarm water", referring to the comfortable lifestyle of Japanese youngsters. The company’s logo and theme is based on the original Planet of the Apes movie. Bape has over 30 stores present across Japan, Hong Kong, Taipei, London and New York.

Bathing Ape began as a T-shirt brand but its present clothing range includes shirts, sweatshirts, parkas, polos, denim and "Bape Stas" ñ shoes which are quite similar to Nike Air Force One. Additionally, other Bape products include belts and jackets. Bape clothing is also worn by well-known rappers like Kanye West, Lil' Wayne and Pharrell Williams. Pharrell Williams helped Nigo in adding the collection to the BBC or the Billionare Boys Club. Baby Milo is another brand from Bape.
