Donna Karan New York (DKNY) is the label of world renowned American fashion designer Donna Karan. Donna Karan initially started designing sensual and stylish clothing for women. Today, she also creates clothing lines for men, teens, children and infants. DKNY also features extensive ranges of accessories like watches, handbags, beauty products and home furnishings.

DKNY was established in 1984 by Donna Karan with the help of her husband, sculptor Stephen Weiss. In 1985, Karan launched her first collection of women’s clothing at her own fashion show which proclaimed her the Designer of the Year by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). This led to the official launch of DKNY a few years later with DKNY jeans becoming a hit in most retail outlets. Soon after, Karan diverted from women’s fashion and launched her first menswear collection, followed by consecutive premiers of her signature fragrance and DKNY Kids. 1994 finally saw DKNY’s first store opening in London and eventually in Beverly Hills, Las Vegas, New York and New Jersey.

Today, DKNY is one of the most successful fashion powerhouses running with stores established around the world, including Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and the United Arab Emirates.
