French ConnectionFrench Connection, an English clothing brand started in 1969, is also known as FCUK. The company was established by Stephen Mark. This multinational brand has several branches marketing clothes and accessories for both the gender. The abbreviation of French Connection United Kingdom being FCUK, similar to a four letter expletive, has raised lots of controversy against the brand. However, the company took a full advantage of this and released t-shirts with messages such as "fcuk this", "hot as fcuk", "mile high fcuk", "fcuk me", "too busy to fcuk", "fcuk life", "fcuk football", "fcuk fashion", "fcuk fear", "fcuk on the beach", "possibly...the best fcuk ever", "cool as fcuk", etc. Generally, the acronym of French Connection was also lettered in lower case. Mostly the clothes are sold at FCUK’s own stores; however, there are certain other stores that also house their collection. FCUK product range includes from coats, jackets, skirts, boy’s shirts, trousers, polo neck t-shirts, jeans, dress, shrugs, cardi, shorts, stroll top and also accessories such as shoes boots, tie, belt, flip flops etc. Though the company started as a wholesaler, the business was shifted to retailing due to recession in 1993. Two years later, the company expanded its product range and all the stores were re-designed. For the London Fashion Week, FCUK Fashion was used in London’s Regent Street Window. Right from the time of inception, French Connection has built up a steadfast customer base across the globe with their commitment to quality. |
