Jordan

Air Jordan is a range of shoes from global sports shoes manufacturer, Nike. Inspired by ace basketball player, Michael Jordan, these shoes are supposed to reflect the athleteís dedication to perfection and performance. Colloquially, these items of footwear are referred to as Jordans, AJís or simply Jís.

First launched in 1985, these shoes have become popular across the world both for their comfort factor as well as for the celebrity appeal that they exude due to their name. New models of the Jordan shoes have been released every year since their inception. These shoes are made by the company, Jordan, which is part of the Nike sports goods behemoth organization. The production of the shoes did not cease even when Michael Jordan retired from active basketball playing. Since, the Air Jordanís are relatively more expensive than conventional sports shoes, they are often considered collectorís items. Based on the year of release and the model, these shoes are classified into four broad categories: Originals (OG), Retros, Retro+s and Samples.
