Nike Air Max

In 1987, Nike introduced the Nike Air Max shoe using the Visible Air Technology for the first time. Nike Incorporation is an American company that derives its name from the Greek word "Nike," which means the Goddess of victory. It is one of the leading manufacturers of sports apparel, shoes and equipment in the world.

Nike was founded in the year 1967 and the Nike trademark, the "swoosh" symbol was designed by a graphic artist student named Carolyn Davidson. Sports shoes were among one of the first products manufactured by Nike and today it produces a large variety of sports equipment.

Nike has been a pioneer in developing and using new technology in their sports goods and Nike Air Max is a product in the same line. It features a large air cushioning unit at the heels, visible from the sides. The Air Max shoes use different types of cushioning like the Air Max2, Tube Air and Total Air. The Air Max2 cushioning does not have "holes", the Tube Air cushioning is visible in various small circles in the mid-sole of the shoe whereas the Total Air means Full Air Max cushioning.

Air Max shoes are not only popular as sports shoes but are also used as casual shoes. Some of the popular models are Air Max I, Air Max II (also known as Nike Air Max 90), Air Total Max (also known as Nike Air Max 95) and Nike Air Max 360 which was launched in 2006.
