Orla KielyOrla Kiely is a fashion designer who is popular for her handbags. She started designing in the 1990s, when black was the colour most often used for fashion garments and accessories. Orla Kiely received instant success because of her colourful collection. She was appointed by Harrods to create a range of hats. Following that, she was assigned to design collections of accessories. In later years, Orla Kiely fashioned collections of bags that were displayed in many London stores. Kiely partnered with Dermott Rowan and showcased her products at the London Fashion Show as well as in Japan. The following year she was appointed as a consulting person at the popular brand, Marks and Spencer. This is where she launched her first diffusion range. By 2000, her customers could purchase her collections from 300 stores across the world. The next year, she won the U.K. Fashion and Export Award for the accessories section. After a partnership with Japan in 2002, Orla Kiely opened her first stand-alone store in Korea in 2003. The following year she was assigned to design a homeware range. This range will soon be available in 200 stores across the U.K. In June that year, she launched her special collection called Tate and by the following June she provided her customers with the convenience of online shopping. Following that year, she introduced her designer wall-paper range. In 2006, she refreshed her products and new products were included in the Orla Kiely ranges on offer. |
