SandalsSandals are footwear, generally, having straps or thongs that are fastened to the foot. They usually do not cover the entire foot, especially the toes but only the sole. They may or may not have thicker heels. That’s one of the reasons people prefer wearing sandals in warmer climates as there are less chances of any infection to the feet and the feet can be kept dry and cool. They are also a great fashion accessory and uplift any type of attire. There are various types of sandals available depending on the styling of their soles. Sandals could have soles made from rubber, rope, cork, leather, wood (clogs or geta) or tatami (as in zori). Other types of sandals popularly worn by women are wedges, kitten heels, espadrilles, stilettos, sling-backs, platforms, huaraches, slides and flip-flops. Flip-flop sandals could be worn by both men as well as women. They are more of casual type footwear than other types of sandals. Sandals that have gained great popularity recently are wedge sandals. A wedge heel is situated under the foot and runs from the back of the shoe to the middle or front. As the name suggests, the heels are wedge shaped or could be triangular. They may or may not be high heeled. |
