Wheels and DollbabyWheels and Doll Baby is a fashion label based in Sydneyís hip Crown Street, Darlinghurst. The brand was co-established by Melanie Greensmith and her husband Brett Ford, a Sydney based drummer and songwriter, in 1987. The brand not only sells hard-to-find garments imported from U. K. and U. S., but also sells clothing designed by Melanie herself. However, the collection designed by her is more popular than the ones imported. Wheels and Doll Baby clothes are particularly themed with strong "rock ëní roll" feel. The label actually took off after Melanie collaborated with Mark, a well-known musician. This brand has a wide array of style to offer right from Posh Punk and Parisian Scruff to old world movie star glamour. Wheels and Doll Baby offers clothes for both the gender. The range of menís wear includes shirts and t-shirts made from cotton. The brand offers a greater variety in womenís clothes including knitted t-shirts, dresses, singlets, shirts, satin dresses, 40ís dresses, etc. Wheels and Doll Baby also manufactures accessories such as hair bow and neck collars. Michael Jackson was the first celebrity to ask Melanie to customise his leather jack for his "Bad" Tour. Soon, the list of celebrities purchasing the brand increased. It now includes faces such as Dannii Minogue, Scarlette Johanson, Jemima Khan and Hugh Grant and many more. Wheels and Doll Baby is also involved in non-profit organisations such as Hunter Animal Rescue that aims to give animals a good quality of life. |
