Coca ColaThe Coca Cola Company was founded in 1892 by Asa Griggs Candler and is the worldís largest manufacturer, marketer and distributor of non-alcoholic drinks, concentrates and syrups. In 1884, the drink Coca Cola was invented by a pharmacist named John Stith Pemberton. The Coca Cola Company has its headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia and its flagship product is Coca-Cola. The Coca Cola syrup is primarily sold to various bottlers who hold a Coca-Cola franchise, all over the world. The company gave free drinks to soldiers in the United States during World War II. Also the company set up bottling plants in several locations overseas making sure that soldiers had enough refreshments. All this made the drink extremely popular. Coca Cola attempted to change the formula of their traditional drink around April 1985, due to competition from other beverage companies. It was called ëNew Cokeí. The company launched ëDiet Cokeí in February 2005. This drink was sweetened with the artificial sweetener, sucralose. Also in March 2005, Coca Cola launched Coca-Cola Zero, which was a blend of aspartame and acesulfame potassium. The company today sells beverage products in more than 200 countries worldwide. The secret formula of Coca-Cola is a trade secret even today and is held in SunTrust Bankís main vault in Atlanta. Coca Cola collectibles like glasses, fridge magnets, ashtrays, framed mirrors, keychains, etc. are available online. |
