ModelsA model is a representation, mostly in a miniature form, of the appearance or construction of an object, concept or system. Models are important for understanding the structure or functioning of such mechanisms, objects or concepts. They are used in diverse fields such as mathematics, computers, business, engineering and architecture. Builders and architects often construct models of buildings and facilities that they intend to construct at a particular area. Sometimes, models could be abstract in nature such as several mathematical and scientific models, which are described in the language used in these fields. Recently, there is a considerable interest in model building which is a hobby based on the creation of material replicas. People often develop scale models of such objects, figures and vehicles such as cars, trucks, helicopters, superheroes, buildings, spaceships, etc. Scale models are prototypes or replicas of these things that represent them in every likeness such as form or shape except that the dimensions have been scaled down proportionately. Scale models make good toys for children as they prefer owning toys that bear some connection with the real world. Railway models and car models are quite popular among children in the UK. Several toy manufacturers also offer die cast car models. |
