PigginsPiggins is a line of figurines started by wildlife enthusiast and artist, David Corbridge in 1993, who wanted to share his love and fascination for animals, especially pigs. David is very fond of animals and spends a considerable amount of his time sketching them. He lived for a long time in a Yorkshire farm, where he was inspired by the sight of a pig named Tuesday, who was sleeping with his head in an old tractor tyre very comfortably, and subsequently launched the "Piggin’ Tired", which was his first Piggins figurine. David has sculpted over 200 Piggin' pieces, and has created the Piggins Celebrations range and the new Piggin' Professionals range, which was unveiled in April 2002. David is a talented public speaker and is well-sought after by collectors the world over. His ideas for Piggin’ are not only limited to animals, but also draw inspirations from human emotions and feelings. For instance, the Piggin’ Phobia was inspired by the fact that David’s brother had a lifelong fear of spiders, and the Piggin’ Skint was created after he received a request from a collector who had spent all her money at a Collectibles Fair. The current Piggins collection features three new themes; Cheeky, Life and Special. New and old Piggin’ collectibles are available for sale on many online shopping portals. |
