Pocket DragonsPocket Dragons are rare toy collectible items available today, which depict friendly dragons in various situations. The pocket dragons were originally created and designed by Real Musgrave, and are manufactured by Collectible World Studios. Ever since the first time these toys were designed, both Real and his wife have maintained creative control over the line-up. Real had been bewitched with dragons since his childhood days. He started making sketches of them when he was just five years old. By 1974, he opened a gallery to promote and sell his fantasy artwork with the help of his partner and wife, Muff. He drew his inspirations from his loving and mischievous dog, Flower. Real incorporated Flower’s mischievous expression in all his pocket dragons, which is what gave the dragons their characteristic cute personalities. The first set of Pocket Dragons was released in June 1989 that comprised of twenty-seven of the figures. They were called "New Bunny Shoes". The huge popularity of the toy dragons even inspired an animated television series called Pocket Dragon Adventures that ran for fifty-two episodes. Although they were created in America, more than 50% of the Pocket Dragons were sold in England. Some of the popular Pocket Dragon collectibles include Pocket Dragon Santa, Pocket Dragon Heaven and Pocket Dragon Rider. Today, the production of the hugely collectable toy dragons are said to have stopped. This has further made these figurines a much sought after item by dragon collectors. |
