Titanic

The Titanic was a large, luxurious passenger liner that sank after a collision with an iceberg near Cape Race, Newfoundland, on April 15, 1912. Over 1,500 passengers died or went missing during this tragic incident that took place on the route to New York from Southampton, England. The huge loss of life was attributed to the insufficient number of life boats present on the Titanic during the crisis. After a long search, the wreck of the Titanic was found by an expedition led by Dr. Robert D. Ballard in 1985.
