1GB RAM

Different types of RAM are available in the market such as DDR SDRAM, DDR2 SDRAM and DDR3 SDRAM. SDRAM is available in 100 and 133 MHz speeds. DDR SDRAM is marketed with four different clock speeds i.e. 100MHz, 133 MHz, 166 MHz and 200 MHz. DDR2 SDRAM is also promoted in four clock speeds namely, 200, 266, 333 or 400 MHz. The latest one that is DDR3 RAM is available in four speeds: 400 and 533 MHz, which will be initially available to the consumer at 667 and 800 MHz, which are expected to be launched after sometime. This innovation is expected to provide the user with peak transfer rate of 6.40 GB/s, 8.53 GB/s, 10.67 GB/s or 12.80 GB/s respectively. DDR3 modules are christened as PC3- 6400, PC3-8500, PC3-10600 and PC3-12800.

RAMs are offered in different storage capacity such as 512 MB, 1GB and the latest one 2 GB. 1GB RAM can be installed in various types of computers including Apple Mac. 1GB RAM is widely used by consumers because of easy availability and affordable price. Moreover, a computer having four RAM slots allows a user to place four 1GB RAM modules resulting in faster processing for complicated applications. 1GB capacity is sufficient for most animations, games, video editing and other multimedia application. It also allows the user to open multiple windows at a time without decreasing computer speed.
