Acer Laptop

Acer was founded in 1976 and owns the largest franchised computer retail chain in Taiwan, Acerland. This Taiwan based company’s product line includes Acer Laptops, PCs, servers and storage, peripherals, high-definition TVs, projectors, displays and e-business solutions for business, government, education, and home users. Initially, the company was named as Multitech in 1976 and renamed to Acer in 1987. Acer was mainly a distributor of electronic parts and a consultant in the use of microprocessor technologies. The company’s global headquarters is in Hsichih City, Taiwan. In 2001, the company was associated with the former F1 team, Prost Grand Prix and the Ferrari Formula 1 Team. Many of their premium Acer Laptops and LCD monitors have the Ferrari brand name.

Many Ferrari engines have the Acer brand name on it. In March 2007, Acer announced their intentions of sponsoring Factory Fiat Yamaha Team for the 2007 MotoGP World Championship season. The company today employs 5,300 people supporting distributors and dealers in over 100 countries. Acer Laptop brands include the TravelMate series, Tablet PC series, the Aspire series and the Extensa series, among others. The company’s product range also includes the Aspire desktop line, Personal digital assistants, Navigation systems, monitors, digital cameras, etc.
