Apple iBookThe Apple iBook was a laptop computer that was designed and manufactured by Apple Inc between 1999 and 2006. This clamshell designed laptop was targeted at educational and consumer markets and was available in an array of colours. The original iBook was the "blueberry" iBook. Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple Inc introduced the G3 model laptop computer on July 21st 1999 at the keynote presentation of Macworld Conference & Expo in New York City. This iBook was made specifically for children and students. It was designed using the latest ’Unified Motherboard Architecture’ by Apple. Apple iBook G3 SE and iBook G3 Firewire/SE were G3 model’s other versions. In May 2001, the Apple iBook G3 Dual USB (12.1-inch & 14.1-inch) was launched. The Apple iBook G4 was launched in October 2003 and featured slot-loading optical drives and a solid white case and keyboard. It didn’t include the translucent case finish and keyboard, magnesium chassis and palm rests like the previous iBooks. Various iBook G4 models were launched between 2003 and 2005 with various revisions. The Apple iBook was discontinued by Apple in due course of time and was replaced by MacBook and PowerBook.
