AutocadAutocad, standing for Automated Computer Aided Design (CAD), is an innovative software package that enables 2 and 3 dimensional drafting. This product, developed by Autodesk Inc. in the 1980s, is often used by engineers and architects as an architecture software for performing various spatially oriented tasks. Autocad achieved a milestone in being the first CAD software that was compatible with a personal computer. The company claims that this software has a tremendous scope to increase productivity by automating designing tasks that would take a much longer time if done manually. Additionally, accuracy is also enhanced. Autocad, once learnt, can be used by a layman too. Many schools have introduced this software in their curriculum to familiarise the students with its uses. Numerous urban planning and redevelopment projects have seen the light of day, thanks to Autocad. From a cable transportation company in the French Alps to an Italian interior designer, many professionals have used Autocad in their work. Some versions of Autocad include Autocad 2005, Autocad 2006, Autocad 2007, and Autocad 2008. |
