Dell Xps

Dell XPS (Xtreme Performance System) is a top of the line gaming computer system by Dell. The first two XPS computers were released in September 1993, under the brand name Dimension. It was targeted at corporate clients rather than consumers, and was made available at affordable prices. By 2001, Dell began selling gaming computers under numbered PC titles, starting with Dimension 4100, which replaced the Dimension XPS-T. Dimension XPS-B was the last Dimension XPS product produced which used Pentium IIIs and ran at speeds in excess of 1 GHz, and used RDRAM. They were replaced by the black and silver coloured Dimension 8100 ñ the first Dell desktop to use a Pentium 4.

The new series of Dell XPS computers were released in 2005. The current XPS models are available with standard Intel Core 2 Duo processors, a 15-month anti-virus subscription, and Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium. In addition the XPS notebooks feature standard TrueLife screens and Dell's "MediaDirect" that allow the user to instantly access calendar, contacts, PowerPoint presentations and multimedia files - all at the touch of a button.

There have been six versions of Dell XPS computers released since 2005; each new generation brings significant upgrades to system components. Some of the current XPS desktops include Dell XPS 210, Dell XPS 410, Dell XPS 710 and Dell XPS 710 H2C. The current models of XPS notebooks include Dell XPS M2010, Dell XPS M1210 and Dell XPS M1710, each of which is highly portable and easy to operate.
