eMacIntroduced in 2002, eMac was the desktop computer that everybody once desired. Made by Apple Inc, eMac stands for education Mac that is a basically an Apple Macintosh desktop computer for students, learners or researchers. When it was first launched, eMac precisely targeted the education market. Later, it started being available for the people who wanted to opt for cheaper desktop over Apple’s second generations iMac computers. These computers became as an immediate option as eMac very closely resembled to the first generation of iMacs. eMacs came in a white, all-in-one design that appealed to the masses. Apparently, Apple Inc. decided to discontinue eMac in the year 2006 and replaced the empty bracket by offering low-end iMacs as an alternative learners computer. The Apple iMac was originally introduced in the year 1998 and has gradually evolved through four distinctive forms. Apple iMac g3 was the first computer with a CRT monitor which had all the processing and storage components fitted behind the CRT, into a single unit. However, second edition Apple iMac g4 featured LCD monitors. While the Apple iMac g5 stuck to all the basic essentials and offerings, it also designed slimmer monitors that have an easy up-down tilt on a simple metal base - thus consuming lesser desktop space and looking attractive too. The current Apple iMac offers up to 24" LCD screen with a more powerful Intel Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Radeon HD 2400 XT or NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GS graphics. The top end variant features a spectacular 3.06GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. Minimum memory of 2GB can be extended up to 4GB as desired, with standard drive capacities available from 250GB to 750 GB. It uses 802.11n wireless technology, which allows greater range and secure transmissions along with faster transfer speeds. However, Apple powermac G4 and G5 are also available as an option to choose over Apple mac computer g3 and g5. Perhaps, the iMac may appear a bit faster when compared, yet both of them function equally good as they feature negligible difference in choice of components. Perhaps you might even notice that the iMac runs considerably faster than regular desktop counterparts. But if you upgrade to a faster boot drive and install a faster video card into your Power Mac, even that small difference disappears. In 2004, Apple unveiled its then fastest and most affordable Apple ibook g4. It was an instant hit with fans and Mac users as it was considerably cheap and was a very lightweight, thin laptop. Enclosed in a sleek and durable polycarbonate plastic enclosure, the 12 to 14-inch iBooks provides faster performance using 1.2 GHz or 1.33 GHz PowerPC G4 processors. It provides up to six hours of battery life for all-day use at work or in the classroom. It also offers AirPort Extreme - a 54 Mbps, 802.11g wireless networking feature in every Apple mac ibook, with an optional internal Bluetooth module that helps connect wireless peripherals such as the Apple Wireless Mouse or an Apple Wireless Keyboard. Thus with so much being offered in the Apple Mac computer, Powermac laptop and Apple powerbook, Apple Inc has been ceaselessly providing diversity with different configuration PC’s and laptops, that is also visually appealing, right since the days of eMac. |
